- 220-1002 (Core 2): Covers operating systems, security, software troubleshooting, and operational procedures.
Both exams are required to earn the CompTIA A+ certification. Candidates must pass both exams to achieve certification.
Is CompTIA A+ the same as CCNA?+
No, CompTIA A+ and Cisco's CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) are distinct certifications with different focuses:
- CompTIA A+: A vendor-neutral certification that covers foundational IT skills, including hardware, software, networking, and troubleshooting. It's ideal for entry-level IT professionals.
- CCNA: A Cisco-specific certification focusing on networking concepts, particularly related to Cisco devices and technologies. It delves deeper into networking protocols, routing, and switching.
While both certifications are valuable, they serve different purposes and career paths. CompTIA A+ is often pursued first to build foundational IT knowledge, followed by specialized certifications like the CCNA for those interested in networking roles.

Falls Sie Ihren ersten Versuch, die A+-Prüfung zu bestehen, nicht bestehen, gelten für die Wiederholungsprüfung folgende Richtlinien von CompTIA:
- Hat ein Kandidat eine Prüfung bestanden, kann er diese nicht ohne vorherige Zustimmung von CompTIA wiederholen.
- Die Prüfungsgebühr muss bei jedem Prüfungsversuch entrichtet werden. CompTIA bietet keine kostenlosen Wiederholungsprüfungen oder Rabatte auf Wiederholungsprüfungen an.
- Ein Testergebnis, das gegen die Wiederholungsrichtlinien verstößt, wird nicht bearbeitet, was dazu führt, dass für den abgelegten Test keine Gutschrift vergeben wird. Wiederholte Verstöße führen zum Ausschluss von der Teilnahme am CompTIA-Zertifizierungsprogramm.
